Authority Needed
Scriptures teach - do not ADD to God's word -
Deut. 4:2; 12:32; Prov. 30:5-6; 2 John 9-10; Rev. 22:18-19;
- Isa. 55:8-9 - My way's higher than man's ways.
- Jer. 10:23 - man is not able to walk by conscience
- Prov. 14:12 - a way that seemeth right - end is death.
- 1 Cor. 2:11 - No one knows the mind of God
- Deut. 18:18 - prophet to speak ALL of God's word to man (Notice Acts 3:22 - Jesus is that Prophet).
- John 12:48-50, Jesus told ALL
- John 14:26 - would not add or subtract
- John 16:13 - would reveal ALL
- 1 Cor. 2:13 - revealed by choosing 'words'
- John 16:13 - spirit to guide them into ALL truth
- John 15:15 - Jesus told them ALL things
- 1 John 1:3-4 - they wrote what they knew.
- 2 Peter 1:3 - knew all things pertaining to life and godliness.
- Jude 3 - 1st century Christians to contend earnestly for THE faith - once for all delivered unto the saints.
- 2 Tim. 3:16-17 - can perfect, furnish unto every good work.
- 2 John 9-10, not to go beyond the teaching of Christ
- 1 Cor. 4:6 - not to think above what is written.
- Gal. 1:11-12 - revealed unto him, not taught by men.
- 2 Pet. 3:115-16 - Peter approved his teaching, calling them 'scripture' and that such wisdom was GIVEN to him.
- 1 Cor. 2:16 - he had the mind of Christ.
- Acts 20:27 - declared the whole purpose (counsel) of God.
- 1 Cor. 14:37 - wrote the commandments of God.
