ELDER = BISHOP = PASTOR

1. elder = bishop

a. Same qualifications, 1 Tim. 3 and Titus 1

b. used interchangeably, Acts 20:17-28

2. elder = pastor

a. latin word for shepherd = pastor.

b. found only in KJV N.T. in Eph. 4:11

c. Jeremiah shows pastor = shepherd, Jer. 23:1-5; 10:21; 3:14-15

d. elder functions as shepherds to church -

1. Acts 20:28 = feed = poimeino (verb - to shepherd)

2. 1 Peter 5:1-3, also the verb form of 'pastor' or shepherd.
